Sofas are the single hardest piece of furniture to get rid of on your own. They're heavy, oversized and shaped like they were designed to get stuck in doorways. Our sofa and couch removal service hauls seating of every kind out of Greater Sudbury homes — three-seaters, loveseats, sectionals, recliners and sleeper sofas — from any room and any floor.

This page is all about seating. Sofas, couches and chairs are what we move most, and they're the items most likely to defeat a DIY attempt: a sectional that won't fit around the basement stairwell, a sleeper sofa that weighs twice what it looks like, a recliner with a mechanism that catches on every doorframe. Our crew does this work daily across Sudbury's older neighbourhoods, where narrow stairs and tight hallways are the norm, and we know how to get big seating out without damaging your home. (For tables, dressers and everything else, see our general furniture removal page.)
What we take
- Sofas and three-seaters, fabric or leather
- Sectionals — disassembled and carried out in pieces
- Loveseats and apartment-size couches
- Recliners, including power and lift chairs
- Sleeper sofas and futons
- Armchairs, accent chairs and ottomans
How pricing works
A single sofa or loveseat typically runs $80–$150; a large sectional or sleeper sofa runs $150–$250 depending on size, weight and stair access. Clearing a full living room of seating lands in the $150–$350 range. One flat price before we lift anything — labour, transport and disposal included.
How it works
1. Book your quote — call (705) 555-0199 or send photos through the quote form. Photos of the stairwell help us quote accurately.
2. We arrive and load — confirmed price first. We disassemble sectionals on site, protect your doorframes, and carry everything out.
3. We dispose right — clean, usable sofas go to Sudbury charities; the rest are recycled or disposed of responsibly.

Frequently asked questions
My sectional won't fit up the basement stairs. Can you still take it?
Almost always, yes. We disassemble sectionals into their individual pieces on site, which solves the problem in the vast majority of cases. In the rare situation where something genuinely won't fit, we'll tell you honestly before starting — no charge for an honest assessment.
Do you take sleeper sofas?
Yes, and fair warning: they're among the heaviest items we move because of the steel bed mechanism inside. That's exactly why it's worth calling us instead of wrestling one with a friend.
Will you take a couch that's ripped or stained?
Absolutely. It doesn't need to be in good shape. If it's clean enough to donate, we'll take it to a local Sudbury charity; if not, it's recycled or disposed of properly.
Can you remove a recliner from a small apartment?
Yes. Recliners are compact but awkward, and apartment hallways in student rentals near Laurentian University and College Boreal are tight. We maneuver them out regularly — just make sure there's a clear path to the door.
How quickly can you come?
Same-day pickup is often available across Greater Sudbury. Early-day bookings have the best shot at a same-day slot.
